25th Annual  Beginners Beekeeping Class

LCBA Virtual Beekeeping Classroom

Dear Lorain County Beginner Beekeepers Association Students,

LCBA Members-  since our monthly meeting was canceled, please feel free to join us!

We feel an obligation to all beekeepers who have signed up with us, to provide to you the best beekeeping education we can possibly give to you. Due to the requirements for social distancing, the club has felt that it was their responsibility to bring you the last two classes via a virtual classroom.

To ensure that this virtual classroom operates smoothly for all, we will need you to perform a test so you can use Zoom by Thursday, April 9th.  Follow the Zoom Test Instructions below:

On Friday, April 10th, we will need all students to successfully login to the virtual classroom by 6:30pm for a premeeting.  The class will start promptly at 7pm.

Go to the link below to attend the virtual classroom on Friday, April 10th at 6:30pm:

Meeting ID: 737 086 494
Password: 507057

Zoom Test Instructions
  1. Go here to test the link:
  2. Select: “Join” button
  3. If you’ve never run Zoom, select: “download and run Zoom”   (This will install Zoom on your PC)
  4. If you have Zoom already installed, you will then go directly to step #7
  5. When prompted, save the program to your desktop, or another location you can later find  it. (This will install the Zoom program)
  6. When the install is complete, a popup dialog box will ask you to enter your name. This will be the name you will be known by in the virtual classroom.
  7. Select: "Join Meeting” OR “Open Zoom” if you already have Zoom installed.
  8. A new window will open.
  9. Select: “Join with video” even if you don’t have a video camera.
  10. A new set of boxes will then test your audio and video if you are using it.•
  11. When you enter the test meeting, look for the “Chat” icon. Select it and practice using the chat feature. Students will use the chat feature to ask questions during the class.  (all attendees microphones will be muted since it turns the video screen black while someone is talking)
  12. Your test is complete. Hurrah! You’re ready for the Friday virtual classroom.

*Note: You do not need a computer microphone or camera to attend the class.
If you have difficulties, please contact Mike Yuhas' Google Voice number at 440-644-0233

If you are not able to view the Friday night meeting, Mike will be recording the presentation and it will be on the LCBA website by Monday for you to view at your convenience.

Class 4 information will be sent out next Monday, since we need a new ID for the class.  See you Friday!

Below is the 2020 LCBA Mentors list, all current LCBA members who have agreed to help new beekeepers with their questions.  If they do not pick up, please leave a message for them to get back to you, just in case they do not recognize your phone number and think its spam.
